Wildland support modules are made up of a mix of cooperating federal and state agency personnel. In this position, you will serve as the regional wildland fire-planning specialist and operations coordinator for the for wildland support module work. Position is compatible for regular or situational telework, but is not eligible for remote work. Potential locations include Air Force installations in San Antonio, TX Colorado Springs, CO Albuquerque, NM or Ellsworth, SD. Location to be determined within the Midwest region, co-located with the Branch's field or HQ personnel. The incumbent may receive non-competitive promotion to the next performance grade (GS-13) level subject to supervisor determination that full proficiency has been acquired, all required on-the-job and/or formal training has been successfully completed, and all regulatory and statutory requirements have been met. Initial appointment may be made at either the GS-12 or 13 grade. This developmental GS-12/13 position is interdisciplinary and can be filled by the following job series: Community Planner GS-0020-12/13 Natural Resources Management and Biological Scientist (Environmental) GS-0401-12/13 General Engineering GS-0801-12/13 Environmental Engineer GS-0819-12/13 or Physical Scientist GS-1301-12/13.
